After a late night liaison with Terri, Adam returns home to his girlfriend Jenna. Adam and Jenna both say "I love you" to each other before falling asleep. Throughout the night, not feeling convinced that the other really loves them, they both individually wake up at various points to think about how they really feel. It is during these points, that through dialogue we are able to discover the truth they find so hard to say to each other. Not only do we discover the truth from Jenna and Adam however, but we also discover the true thoughts through dialogue of Terri, and Adam's best friend Sara. For all four characters it feels like time has stopped moving just so they can say how they feel. As real time keeps moving and throughout the night, all of the characters go through a journey which leads them to individually making a choice. Jenna decides she's going to tell Adam that she does love him but she doesn't trust him. Adam decides to explain to Jenna that the reason he may stray is because he's not convinced she really loves him despite her saying it. Sara, who is well aware of Adam's liaison with Terri, actually has secret romantic feelings for him anyway and decides to tell Adam that she loves him. Terri decides to tell Adam that she no longer wants to be the other woman, and wishes to be the only one Adam is really in love with. Jenna, Adam, Sara and Terri all reach their decision to act all at the same time, and as everything comes to a head, we allow time to stop moving at that pinnacle moment while we leave them to it.
