In December 2010 Lee Neville released a 2-Disc DVD set especially and exclusively for the cast and crew of Not the Way It Feels. This unofficial 2-Disc Special Edition DVD contained the short film, and all of the behind-the-scenes and promotional content released online. Exclusive to the DVD were an introduction by Phoebe Gast and Lee Neville, behind-the-scenes footage via DVD branching, on-screen song lyrics, original script dialogue on-screen, song facts and additional featurettes and video content including A Conversation with Phoebe Gast and Lee Neville, Meet the Producers, Caller & Operator Hotseat, The Sleepy Caller, Action Phoebe!, and Cast & Crew Q&A. The DVD also included bonus short film Time Stops Moving, with 3 DVD Easter Eggs on Disc 1 and 7 DVD Easter Eggs on Disc 2. DVD-ROM content included Not the Way It Feels in HD 1080p, iPod Digital Copy, the Rough Cut, script and on-set photos by Tash Hall. Due to music copyright costs there are currently no plans to make an official DVD for Not the Way It Feels available.

The unofficial 2-Disc Special Edition DVD contained Not the Way It Feels in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix for the unofficial 2-Disc Special Edition DVD is essentially a Stereo mix within a 5.1 surround field. Sound only comes from the front speakers. However, due to the way that the film was made there is potential to create both a genuine Dolby Digital 5.1 EX mix and a DTS 6.1 ES mix.

On Disc 1 highlight the Main Menu Play button, press up and enter. Note that as you press up and enter you will not see anything highlighted. You will then be able to watch a clip from the US television series Everwood with Toby Lightman's version of the song Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels) playing in the background.

Tash Hall: A Day in the Life of an OpticianEdit

On the Disc 1 Special Features Menu, highlight The Making of Not the Way It Feels to be taken to that menu screen. From there, highlight The Making of Not the Way It Feels Part 2, press left and enter. Note that as you press left and enter you will not see anything highlighted. You will then be able to briefly see Tash Hall answer a question about what was a day in her life during the shooting of Not the Way It Feels.

Richard Stanley's House TourEdit

On the Disc 1 Special Features Menu, highlight The Making of Not the Way It Feels to be taken to that menu screen. From there, highlight The Making of Not the Way It Feels Part 2, press right and enter. Note that as you press right and enter you will not see anything highlighted. You will then be able to watch Richard Stanley give you a tour of his house, the same house used for filming Not the Way It Feels.
